Canned Jobs
Canned jobs save you time in entering data into orders by grouping together parts and labor operations which are used in combination with one another. For example, you might want to set up a canned job consisting of the parts and labor operations you would use to perform a tune-up. The Canned Job List is also where you select Canned Jobs to be added to Manager Orders.
The Canned Job List is also where you create and manage canned jobs.
Selecting a Canned Job to add to a Manager
Order
The Canned Jobs button appears
in the various Manager order panels (Quick Estimate, Repair Order, Revision,
etc.). Selecting this button opens the Canned Job list, from which you can
select a canned job to transfer to your order. The canned job search facility
allows you to quickly locate a canned job specific to the vehicle you are
working with.
You can also right-click on the grid area of an
order panel to display a quick menu of canned jobs. (See
Quick Canned
Jobs).

Jobs
You can add canned jobs to a Quick Canned Jobs List that you can
access by right-clicking in the Order Panel.
Copying an Existing Canned Job
Rather
than creating a canned job from scratch, you can save time by copying an
existing canned job and simply changing those data fields that are different.
For example, a canned job for an oil change for a Ford Mustang might be
identical to a canned job for an oil change for a Ford Probe. Rather than enter
both jobs twice, it would be less time-consuming to enter the job once, copy it,
and change the vehicle.
To copy an existing canned
job:
1. Select Canned Jobs from
the Utilities menu.
The
Canned Job List dialog box appears.
2. Type, or select from a
pull-down list, identifying information for the canned job (as known):
3. Select the Search
icon.
The
Canned Job List displays the jobs which match your request.
4. Select the Canned Job
which you wish to copy by clicking on it with your mouse pointer.

number.
6. Type in a unique job
number. (up to 20 digits)
7. Select OK.

Edit
the new canned job, as necessary, by completing the Editing an Existing
Canned Job procedure.
