Parts are priced to customers based on an established ‘Type’ definition on their Customer screen [below]. Most shop customers are retail and will be charged line 1 value (0% discount). For these customers, there is no question about charging established selling price.
The Alternate Sale option is useful for price protection with other customer types that could potentially discount a part beyond an acceptable amount. In the Inventory part record screen, click on the Alt. Sale button to review and adjust these pricing levels as required. Any departures from the current Customer Type price levels will appear in red. The Default button will remove your edits and return to using the original price levels in black.
In summary, this option provides modified selling prices per part for all customers grouped by various Customer Type definitions.
